Welcome Volunteer!

header

Founded in 1991, The Volunteer Center, powered by Valley United Way, is a community resource matching the skills and interests of volunteers with the needs of non-profits providing services in the Valley community. The Volunteer Center coordinates the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC), High School Volunteer Council, and Youth Leadership Program. This site is desgined to assist you in finding an opportunity in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour or Shelton that fits your time, talents and interests. The number of opportunities will expand as more agencies and nonprofit groups begin to post their opportunities.

At the top of the screen, you can use the tabs for CALENDAR, OPPORTUNITY SEARCH or AGENCY SEARCH to find opportunities that fit what you may be looking to do.

You can browse the site without logging in, but we recommend that you click on the LOGIN button at the top of the screen to create your own private and personalized account. If you already have an account, simply enter your User ID and password. You must create your own account in order to register for any volunteer opportunity or to create a team.

Benefits of creating your own account:

  1.     Have a permanent user ID and password that can be used 24/7.
  2.     Be notified automatically via e-mail of new opportunities that match selected criteria.
  3.     Express interest in selected opportunities and have volunteer-specified contact information e-mailed automatically to the agency.
  4.     Manage the list of selected opportunities.
  5.     Review a calendar of volunteer time commitments.
  6.     Create and maintain your own team of volunteers.

So are you ready to join hand and be a part of the change? Our Volunteer Center director will work with you to tailor all of your volunteer needs. We specialize in:

  • Companies looking to create their own volunteer project, boost employee morale, build teamwork among colleagues, and improve employees personal leadership skills
